I was born in Canton, Ohio one cold November day, 1967. I graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1986. A brief stint working at McDonalds convinced me of the need for higher education. I was a patient escorter in the Radiology Department at Holzer Medical Center for 10 years. During that time I started classes at the University of Rio Grande, saving money and taking a class at a time. I had some now dreadful, thoughts at the time of teaching Mathematics.

TAI CHI, A NEW DIRECTION
I started Tai Chi practice in 1989. Meanwhile, attending some George Dillan seminars sparked my interest in the martial art side of Tai Chi, and acupressure study for self-defense and healing. Chinese Massage Techniques increased the effectiveness of acupressure, and I found myself studying massage, acupressure and martial arts as three parts of a whole.

My student career at the University of Rio Grande reached the end of my generals and I had to make a decision. I chose to pursue Massage Therapy as a career and abandoned mathematics. I earned my Black Sash for teaching Tai Chi during my first quarter at Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH. I passed the exam given by the State Medical Board of Ohio, giving me the title of "Licensed Massage Therapist" in 1998.

MASSAGE THERAPY
I then left Radiology to join Holzer Medical Center Therapy Services Department. I worked for Therapy Services for 10 years, while teaching Tai Chi, and providing massage for Outpatient and Inpatient Physical Therapy. In 2000, I attended over 100 hours of training in Applied Kinesiology, specifically Dr. John Thie's program "Touch for Health." My instructor was Dr. Wayne Topping. 2003 was a very busy year, taking me to Orlando, Florida for training and certification designated "Medical Massage Practitioner," then certification for Tai Chi Instructor from the National Arthritis Foundation.

The next three years were spent building my hospital practice and my private practice. My private practice maintains working relationships with a few different Chiropractors and Medical Doctors. The years 2006 through 2010 were spent working toward certification in CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute, and teaching Tai Chi. My study of CranioSacral Therapy includes classes on acupuncture without needles. My studies have broadened my practice to include any age group, newborns through geriatrics. CranioSacral Therapy is especially good for children - newborn infants through adolescence.
